Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Augustus Andrew Nana Akwasi, has assured party executives that none of them will lose their position if he is re-elected.
He made the pledge as he dismissed claims by his opponents that he plans to target executives who have not backed his re-election bid.
“My opponents are spreading false information that I will go after some few executive members who do not support my bid. That is a fallacy, because that is not who I am. Look, we are building a party, and my primary objective is to continue uniting the base of our party. I won’t renege,” he said.
Nana Akwasi also reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that every executive does the work they were elected to do.
“When I am retained, I will let every executive do the work they were elected to do. I have done it once, I have done it twice, and I will do it again,” he added.
The NDC will hold its regional executive elections on November 15, with the incumbent Regional Chairman seeking to retain his position.
